What is CTeen Midtown Academy?

“CTeen Midtown Academy’s goal is to be a place where Jewish teens can earn an Ontario high school credit while connecting with other Jewish teens and exploring meaningful ideas about life, leadership and identity.”

Are these real Ontario high school credits?

Yes. CTeen Midtown Academy is following the Ontario Ministry of Education’s process to grant high school credits toward the OSSD.

So Students can receive an official report card, and the credit will appear on their Ontario Student Transcript (OST) just like any other course.

Who can join?

Our courses are open to Jewish teens in Grades 9–12 who want to earn a credit in a positive Jewish environment while meeting other teens from across the community.

Students from any high school are welcome.

What courses are offered?

We currently offer the following courses:

  • Grade 10-11: Philosophy: The Big Questions – HZB3M
  • Grade 9-12: Business Leadership: Management Fundamentals – BOH4M
  • Grade 12 : Grade 12 English – ENG4U

Each course combines discussion, real-world ideas, Jewish perspective, and creative learning.

When are classes?

Classes run once per week throughout the school year (September–June). Students attend:

  • Tuesday for the HZB3M and ENG4U course and Wednesday for BOH4M and IDC4U course 
  • 3:45 PM – 6:00 PM (The English grade 12 course will be (4:30-6:30)
  • Straight from school at 3:45

Where do classes take place?

Classes take place at 544 S. clair  Ave. W. Our location in Midtown Toronto, a welcoming space designed specifically for teens.

Is it just a class, or is it social too?

Definitely social too.

Our CTeen Lounge is open before and after class so teens can hang out, relax, enjoy snacks, and connect with other Jewish teens from different schools. For many students, it becomes a weekly place to meet friends and build community.

Is the course hard?

The courses are designed to be engaging and manageable, while still providing meaningful learning.

Students may complete things such as essays, creative projects, class discussions, and short presentations or reflections. The focus is on thinking deeply, sharing ideas, and exploring important topics, rather than just memorizing information.

Can students still take all their regular courses at school?

Yes. students remain fully enrolled in their regular high school and take this course as an additional credit. Many students do this to create flexibility in their schedule later on. And boost their grades. Often allowing them to have a spare in grade 12

How much does it cost?

No student will be turned away due to lack of funds. please feel free to contact us and receive a scholarship.

 

The full course price is $650, And we’re currently offering an early bird special at $550 if you register by August 1st! If you choose Option 2, which includes the New York City CTeen Shabbaton experiential learning,  there’s an additional $500 fee (travel costs not included).
